The Practice
An evolving body of work exploring ritual, lineage, and transformation through material, memory, and form. The Practice is where process becomes prayer and making becomes reflection.
Photographed in my grandmother’s backyard, this series explores lineage, ritual, and inherited protection. The red brick, rooted in St. Louis architecture and spiritual practice, becomes a vessel for memory, labor, and caretaking. The cloaked figure, first introduced in my earlier work, reappears as a symbolic presence of ancestral wisdom, bridging performance, devotion, and the act of building as ritual.
